To my muse: Swedish Fish

I am dedicating this post to the recent source of my writing inspiration yesterday during a time of serious drought: Swedish Fish.

I'm looking at you, my pretty.

While staring blankly at the screen, a little voice (let’s call her my muse, instead of calling ME crazy) whispered, ‘Swedish Fish’ softly in my ear. When I ignored said voice, it only got louder, sending the words out to my tongue.  Soon, I could actually start to taste the fish that wanted to be there so desperately.

What could I do?  I had to calm the voices so I could write? Didn’t I?  So, I drove my car (which was on empty by the way) and ‘borrowed’ some money from my kiddos ‘loose tooth’ fund, and drove my butt down the road to pay $2.19 for 8oz of high fructose corn syrup.

Now, I know what your thinking?  Did it work? Why, yes it did. Thanks for asking. Now if you’ll excuse me, there are 3 remaining fish in the bag that are begging to be devoured. Heaven help me when they are gone.
