What I’m working on this week

What am I working on this week you ask? Well, too much, but I’ll try to list them here (cause I know you’re all dying to know-hahahaha!)

1. Getting da SWAG (man, I hate that term) ready for UtopYa in June (check out their site, so pretty!) This is a sold out event of over 300 people and guess how many books I could afford to bring? 30 people. three zero.  I’m banking on the fact that no one will have a clue who I am, and therefore not want to by my paperback copies, but might stop by my booth and take some of my SWAG so that one day they may buy my book… That’s the hope anyway. So since I have so few books, (cause despite popular opinion I am not a best selling author–I know, hard to believe!!!) I plan to load my 1/2 of my table with as much SWAG as I can (again, hate that word)

I’ll be sharing a table with none other than Laura Howard, author of The Forgotten Ones, who, in just a few weeks of her books release, already has 45 reviews!!!! (Pulled Back has been out forever and still only has 24-hahahaha!)

So together, we’ll share a 6 foot table. On my half I’ll have a 3 foot by 2 foot banner of this:

I’ll also have my loverly shrinky dink magnet display, cause who doesn’t love a good shrinky dink?

And of course there will be a slew of da new bookmarks (cause I got 2,500 of those bad boys)

And finally, Da Buttons.

As I wait for all of this to come in so I can ship it out to TN, I’m also working with the amazing Kari Suderley on a Book Trailer for Pulled. Sooooooooooooo much harder than it appears!  I’ll post the link if we ever finish it!

Throw in some writing on The Netherworld with Amy Miles and some much needed editing on Pulled Back Again, and we have ourselves a pretty busy week.

I think I need a nap now? How about all of you?

  1. Wow! You’ve got a very busy week!
The convention looks really good and a great opportunity for you to showcase your books! May I suggest you print off a few cards of where they’re available in hardcopy and e-book format? That way if you sell out, you can still hand those out. Maybe print a blurb of what the trilogy is about on one side with the purchase details on the other.
Of course, you’ve probably already thought of this…
As for the trailer – good luck, I look forward to seeing it! I know it definitely takes longer than people imagine, but I had a lot of fun producing mine and it’s pretty cool when you see the finished product! 🙂

    1. I have a slew of business cards that I’ll hand out as well for those interested, but have yet to make ‘rack cards’ with the book and blurb info. I ran out of money! I really wanted to have them for this one, but I don’t get my next Amazon check until the day of the convention. Go figure! hahaha! Have you been to any of these conventions? This will be my first and I have no idea what to expect.

      1. I haven’t been to any, but they look like an excellent opportunity. I have a solution for the rack cards – I’ll email you, probably better than clogging your blog 😉
