A New Adventure Begins

Two new adventures to report on! The first is to let you know about an upcoming event that I’ll be reading at. If anyone is local to the Midcoast Maine Area, then you can catch me, along with 6 other Maine authors for a night of readings and Q&A. You can join the Facebook event if you want to know more: Write This Way.

The second New Adventure began not too long ago, when an author friend of mine, Carter Ashby, informed me of a new site that she was creating called Venus Scribe.

Venus Scribe

It promised to have articles on Feminism, fiction, and life for creative women in the publishing industry. Cool. I’d read those articles for sure. She asked a few of her author pals to submit articles on a variety of topics, and if our articles messed with what she was after, she’d give us a byline on her page along with the article. Well, I sent her a few articles that I had been pondering for my own blog posts that I thought might fit. She liked what she read and wanted me to be one of her contributing authors for future content!

What does that mean? It means I’ll be supplying regular articles for the site. So far, two of my articles are up under The Craft section, which can be found here.

In the coming months, I’ll be doing some author interviews, recommendations of books on the craft of writing as well as the stages of book writing to name a few of the ideas milling around in my mind. I’m excited!

You can find my first article on writing techniques here.

The second one is about the importance of reading and can be found here.

Take a look around the site and if you’re in the area on July 23, stop in and say ‘hi.’

That’s all for now.

Danielle Bannister, author and contributing author at Venus Scribe.
