Empowering Women Maine Authors Series

Back in January of 2020, I was asked to partake in a video interview series about Empowering Women Maine Authors. I was so excited to be asked to be a part of it. And then, COVID hit and shut everything down for many months. It wasn’t until October that they started opening the studio back up in a limited fashion. However, being immune-compromised, I didn’t feel comfortable going into the studio. Not to be deterred, they made a special accommodation for me and we did our interview via Zoom. Fast forward a few MORE months and that series is now coming to life. My video will naturally be the odd duck but that’s something I’m used to by now. Not quite fitting in. Ha.

Below is the press release for the series.

The Empowering Women Maine Authors Series debuts on March 31st, 2021 on Central Maine Alliance’s (CMMA) Mt. Blue TV. This program is available to air on all community television stations throughout Maine and will also be available online after initial airings. As with many business and productions scheduled during the pandemic, the Empowering Women project was delayed as the station shut its doors to the public last spring to abide the CDC recommendations and Governor Mill’s Covid-19 restrictions. Fortunately, in October of 2020 the studio was able to open on a limited bases and the producers were able to record eight in-studio interviews.

The first season line-up includes fiction and non-fiction authors covering such topics as: astrology, women’s safety, coping with loss and grief, addiction recovery, wellness, french heritage, and Hollywood film artistry as well as historical fiction, fantasy and romance. Featured in-studio guests include: Tam Veilleux, Constance Clark, Sue Humphries, Rhea Côté Robbins, Alison Jones Webb, Amy Carpenter, Susan Casey, and Irene Drago. As well, there is a bonus episode featuring a special remote interview with romance and fantasy writer: Danielle Bannister. The Empowering Women TV executive producer (and TV for Your Soul Founder), “Twinkle” Marie Manning, stepped in as host for these initial interviews. You can check out the teaser video they made below. Naturally, my video isn’t in this mix because it would have messed with the continuity of the piece, but I’m assured I’ll be there. Ha.

Danielle Bannister, author and eventually appear-er in the above series.
