writing

It started out as a text; how did it end up like this?

(It was only a text, it was only a text) *100 points if you got that reference.

In less than a month, I’ll be releasing my 19th book (I actually had to get up and count them. I NEVER thought I’d have so many titles that I’d lose count!) Now, with 19 books on my backlist, you’d think I’d be rolling in the green. You’d be cute, but you’d be wrong. Ha. Yet still, she persisted!

Writing books I’m good at. Marketing them… not so much. I’m trying to get better at that. Honest. Trying to find the TIME to figure out effective ways to market while working full-time, tending to two teens, and also writing all the words makes it hard. That’s why I am ALWAYS grateful when I see someone has shared a post or posted a picture of my book either in their hands or on their kindle or even comments on my posts. It all helps. Especially in the genre I write. I’m a drop in an ocean for sure, so THANK YOU for all the help you give me and other indie artists. You keep us motivated to keep at this creative game!

All that to say that I’m super excited about my next release. It’s been a true labor of love that started on Dec. 13, 2019, when I sent this out of the blue DM to a theater associate, who I knew dabbled in playwriting, Randy Hunt.

In the end, Randy was up for the challenge of writing his first full-length play, and over the course of the next few months, he came up with a script that works completely independent of my novel, but also fits inside of it beautifully. In fact, it’s going to be staged in Maine very soon!

In the coming weeks, I’ll be talking more about how this project came together and sharing some excerpts, etc. Until then, there’s a little less than 1 month to go on this one! And I’m so stinking excited for you to read it, and the excerpts of Randy’s play!

See you next week, friends!
