Look who turned 20!

No, not my son. He’s got a few more years for that, thank goodness. It’s the podcast that I’m a part of. On Monday, we celebrated our 20th episode! That may not seem like a large milestone but for us it’s huge.

Bound By Books is a collection of five authors who write across the genres to talk about that one thing we are all bound by: books.

I SWEAR this has to do with writing.

Our group meet when we all took a marketing class last year. None of us knew the other but we decided we wanted to form a group to meet weekly to discuss the things we were learning. A fast bond formed and the idea of a podcast was tossed out. I’d always wanted to try a podcast and this seemed like the best way to do it, with a group of like minded women! Because five voices at once is a lot of voices, we take turns making each podcast unique to the hosts. It’s been a hoot to do! Since our first episode aired back in May of this year, our downloads have grown by 728%. That’s crazy!

We’ve even started adding the podcasts to YouTube for people who want to see us chatting as well. We started posting those after we’d been podcasting for awhile so currently we only have 8 episodes you can watch but you can find them all at the link above.

We’ve covered a vast array of topics from how we come up with stories, how we plan them out, what our heroes need, to Marvel men. YES, it relates to writing romance. Honest.

You can check out all of our podcasts on Spotify, Apple, Google, Sound Cloud, or watch us on YouTube. You can learn about the members of the group on our website here.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go write all the words, Danielle.

It’s Summer Break! Now what?

Both of my teens are finally done with a year of remote learning (do not recommend) and I’m off for a few weeks myself. Which, is the perfect time for my laptop to die. *head desk. It’s not powering on despite having power to the device. That can’t be good. Cross fingers and toes that my computer repair guy can fix whatever is ailing this less than a year old laptop. Most of my writing is stored in the cloud and old files are saved to external hard drives, but immediate writing may be lost, and for someone who writes daily, that will be a crushing blow if it is unsalvageable. If you hear a wail in the skies later today, you’ll know why.

For now, I’m pretending my laptop isn’t dead and that my slow back up laptop will serve my immediate needs. A girl can dream.

After a year of being stuck inside inside, we’re all looking forward to getting out and seeing friends. My whole family is theatrical so we’ve all been in, or are currently in a production. I just finished a run in As You Like It, my daughter just wrapped her part in She Kills Monsters where she got to do a lot of sword play! And my son is in the musical Little Women later in July. My son’s show has just started rehearsal so no pics yet!

Assuming my computer survives, the plan for me this summer is writing as much as humanly possible. July will be a cover reveal for the book formerly known as Enigma. SOOO stoked to show you that one. It’s a whole different look the publisher is taking it! September is the 10th Anniversary of Pulled and there is a special something-something coming for that, so stay tuned!

And, if you missed it, every Monday at noon (EST) tune into Bound By Books a podcast I am a part of where five authors talk about, you guessed it, books! You can check out the broadcasts here.

Until next time, stay cool my peeps!

June schedule!

Well, I’m kicking off June with the winner of The Bookworm Box for the January YA sold out subscription. The winner was picked yesterday and notified. Their prize will go out today. Thanks to all who entered!

Next week, I’ll have the re-brand of my Twin Flames Trilogy to share. For now, I’ll give you another sneak peek!

Eeeep! One more piece of tape left to rip off!

Next week these should all be live on Amazon. Once they are, I will let you know! Both the e-book and print versions will be updated. Miss out on why I’m rebranding? Catch up here.

I’ve also been busy working on my YouTube Channel where I’m loading my W.O.W. Writers On Writers series. I haven’t really pushed the site because I wanted to load some content on there first. But if you like that sort of thing, feel free to subscribe.

I’ve also been working on podcast Bound By Books which you can catch on Spotify

It’s a podcast of five authors across multiple genres (who rotate hosting duties) as we talk about that one thing we are all bound by: books.

Come July… watch out. There is a LOT happening in July. A BRAND NEW COVER & TITLE for the book f.k.a. Enigma will be released after its acquisition by City Owl Press, and an Anniversary package of Pulled will be available for order in late July. Two projects I’ve been hard at work on in the background for months now.

Writing wise, I’ve got six different projects going at the same time.

  1. A duet to What Moons Do (the same story but from Trista’s POV. What was she up to when Heather wasn’t with her? Hmmmm.)
  2. A new series that kicks off with a collaboration with local Maine playwright, actor, and all around awesome person, Randy Hunt.
  3. The sequel to that first series I started with Randy.
  4. A new steamy novella (what I hope to be a five-part novella series. Novella’s being stories around 25K.)
  5. Another Short Story collection.
  6. Outlining an idea for a few Holiday shorts. I’ve never done these so not sure I can pull it off, but it’s on the docket to try. Ha.

That’s it for now, but watch this space and/or sign up for my Newsletter so you don’t miss out on anything!
